SBAC Testing in April/May

April 21- May 16 - SBAC Field Testing – All Grades

DISTRICT POLICY – NO CELL PHONES allowed in classroom during Statewide Testing!

SBAC Testing will begin the day we return from Spring Break. Students will be in revolving 90 minute block classes for a little over 3 weeks to allow sufficient testing time.  We will upload a pdf version of this schedule soon!  During testing, your child needs to have his/her cell phone turned off and stored in a backpack in a secure section of the computer lab.

What is the SBAC Field Test?  This is the new statewide testing process (in place of STAR).

All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will take this online assessment in English-Language Arts, Math, and a Performance Task (in either English or Math) during the SBAC Field Test window.  All test sessions are for 90 minutes long.  Block schedules will be in effect for our students during the testing time.

PS - no data will be provided to students, parents, or schools on how our students perform on this field test!  We will have another year of Field Tests next year before the true assessment begins in 2016.

If you anticipate needing to pick your child up during the day, please call ahead so we can make arrangements and avoid disrupting the testing rooms.  The Attendance Office direct number is (408) 423-3016.
Thank you for your understanding during this new testing process.

New construction at Buchser

Buchser is starting its next round of renovations. When your children return from Spring Break, the drop-off and pick-up areas will have changed. Please note that you will no longer be able to the drop-off and pick-up your child from Washington Street, or on Bellomy--these areas will now be a red zone. Also, parking past the gates will be limited staff and the construction crew. Thank you for your patience as we progress through this next round of school improvements.  Click here for an updated map:  Buchser Site Map as of April 2014.pdf
