WELCOME BACK WOLVERINES! –Ms. Barbara deOjeda-B-9 E.L.L.

I am so happy to be back for an exciting New Year 2018-2019 school year here at Buchser Middle School.

PLANNERS…We will start our first day receiving a 2017-2018 Planner.  This planner will be our first day’s project.  We will review and learn about all the wonderful tools offered to each student in your planner.  ORGANIZATION IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS!

BEHAVIOR…Starting a new year off with an understanding of the RULES AND PROCEDURES sets the pace for a successful year.  We have so much to experience together.  Our adventures are sure to be fun and rewarding when each and every one of us takes responsibility for our own behavior.  Rules will be discussed and a parent form will need to be signed and returned the very next day.

REMEMBER:  THE CLASSROOM IS A PLACE FOR ALL STUDENTS TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS!

RULES OF THE CLASSROOM: 1.WARNING   2.PHONE CALL TO PARENTS 3.REFERRAL...4.CONFERENCE WITH PARENTS

PARENTS….Thank you for your support in this matter.  I am excited to meet each parent.  Please be sure to call and set up a conference whenever you feel necessary.  My 4th period is my prep and I will be available if scheduled (408) 423-3126 in the B-9 classroom number.  Also bdeojeda@scusd.net is my web.

Hampton Brown/National Geographic (INSIDE) Curriculum…We will once again use the S.C.U.S.D. curriculum support for our E.L.L. Program for Language Arts development.  This is an exciting book series with well illustrated material, listening tools and strategies that meet the California Standards requirements for ELD.

SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES -Great Source “Access Science and Social Studies” will be the support text and workbooks used in our classroom again this year.   This is our district curriculum supported material which is brightly colored and visually attractive to our students.  The material is not only helpful to our students so that they may reach success academically, but the books also compliment both content matters to achieve success.

Ms. deOjeda will be teaching ESL Science again this year.  I am excited to resume this with our “Access” Science curriculum text and workbooks.

BOOKS…Will be checked out on our first week of school.  Please remind your children to sign the inside with their names.  Books and workbooks are the responsibility of our students.  All lost or destroyed materials will be expected to be replaced for classroom use and reimbursed to the school library.  All books will be covered at the time of check-out.

GRADES will be accessed through the School Loop website.  Parents can get numbers to access their children’s grades and information.    Students can, also, access their homework through the School Loop website.  Further information and codes will be issued through the office and classrooms.
