Good evening,
7th and 8th Grade Dance:
Our second 7th/8th Grade dance was an amazing success! We had more students attend this event than our last dance! Our students danced, ate pizza, and had a ton of fun! There was even a cameo of a few teachers cutting a rug in coordination too! Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped supervise and sell food and drink to our students!
Student Advocacy:
In honor of the California House Resolution-12, students at Buchser Middle School will be putting on activities and events to honor Black Lives Matter in Schools Week. Students at Buchser Middle School will hold events during lunch time. These events are sponsored by the Buchser Middle School ABC Club, LGBTQ+ Club, and World Club.
ELPAC Begins this Week:
This week our English Language Learners begin to take the ELPAC. This test measures a student's English proficiency. Our hope is that all students show improvement!

We need to hear from you! Please take a moment to fill out the survey so we can respond to your needs.
Athletic Try-outs begin this week!
Girls Soccer tryouts begin on 2/6
Boys Basketball 6th/7th grade tryouts begin on 2/6
Boys Basketball 8th grade tryouts begin on 2/13
Try-outs will take place immediately after school over 4 days (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). Students need to bring a signed Liability Form to the first day of tryouts.
SEL Survey:
This week, students across the District will be taking part in a Socio-Emotional Learning Survey. This information will help guide our practice. If you would like to opt your student out of taking this survey, please fill out the paper below and turn it into the main office. Thank you.
KONA Ice PTSA Fundraiser
Kona Ice will return this Friday, February 10th after school from 2:50 to 3:30 pm.

Baile de 7º y 8º grado:
¡Nuestro segundo baile de 7º/8º grado fue un éxito increíble! ¡Tuvimos más estudiantes que asistieron a este evento que a nuestro último baile! ¡Nuestros estudiantes bailaron, comieron pizza y se divirtieron muchísimo! ¡Incluso hubo un cameo de algunos maestros cortando una alfombra en coordinación también! ¡Gracias a todos los voluntarios que ayudaron a supervisar y vender alimentos y bebidas a nuestros estudiantes!
Defensoría del estudiante:
En honor a la Resolución-12 de la Cámara de California , los estudiantes de la Escuela Intermedia Buchser organizarán actividades y eventos para honrar la Semana de Black Lives Matter en las escuelas. Los estudiantes de la Escuela Intermedia Buchser realizarán eventos durante la hora del almuerzo. Estos eventos están patrocinados por el Club ABC, el Club LGBTQ+ y el Club Mundial de la Escuela Intermedia Buchser.

Esta semana, nuestros estudiantes del idioma inglés comienzan a tomar el ELPAC. Esta prueba mide el dominio del inglés de un estudiante. ¡Nuestra esperanza es que todos los estudiantes muestren mejoras!

Las pruebas de baloncesto masculino de sexto y séptimo grado comienzan el 2/6
Las pruebas de baloncesto masculino de octavo grado comienzan el 2/13
Las pruebas se llevarán a cabo inmediatamente después de la escuela durante 4 días (lunes, martes, miércoles y jueves). Los estudiantes deben traer un formulario de responsabilidad firmado el primer día de las pruebas.
Encuesta SEL:
Esta semana, los estudiantes de todo el Distrito participarán en una Encuesta de aprendizaje socioemocional. Esta información ayudará a guiar nuestra práctica. Si desea optar por que su estudiante no participe en esta encuesta, complete el formulario a continuación y entréguelo en la oficina principal. Gracias.
