Next Generation Science Standards for Today’s Students and Tomorrow’s Workforce
The Next Generation Science Standards identifies content and science and engineering practices that all students should learn from kindergarten to high school graduation. Through a collaborative, state-led process managed by Achieve, new K–12 science standards have been developed that are rich in content and practice and arranged in a coherent manner across disciplines and grades to provide all students an internationally-benchmarked science education. The NGSS are based on the Framework for K–12 Science Education developed by the National Research Council.

Science curriculum across the country is changing. There is a much greater emphasis on engineering and the design process. In an effort to continue Buchser’s tradition of excellence in science, we are in the process of building an engineering lab where students can design and build in accordance with the new standards.
